Two things. 1. The Alamo was a battle, not a war. The war it was a part of was Texas Revolution, which the US refused to become involved in. Which means that it didn’t fight in that war. 2. Texas wasn’t a member of the union when the Alamo happened. Point in fact, at the time The Battle of the Alamo ended Texas wouldn’t be a member of the union for over 9 years. Thus the Alamo wasn’t on US soil. It was on Mexican, or Texan soil depending on when you believe Texas became The Republic of Texas. Fact checking: It’s your friend.
